Interview Summary

Mac Wiseman talks about his experiences on the Old Dominion Barn Dance, the radio industry during the 1950s, touring, and the changes that occurred in the music industry at that time. He talks about becoming an executive at Dot Records, the beginning of the Country Music Association, and the beginning of Bluegrass festivals. He discusses signing with Capitol Records, working on the Wheeling Jamboree, and his decision to become a solo act. Throughout the interview, he discusses his relationships with many music icons, how various health problems affected his career, and how he was affected by trends in the music industry including rock 'n' roll and Beatlemania.
